Makuhari Messe

Makuhari Messe, located in Chiba City, is one of Japan’s largest convention centers, designed by the award-winning architect Fumihiko Maki. Opened in 1989, this vast venue spans 210,000 square meters, making it a versatile and modern facility for hosting a variety of events, including international trade shows, concerts, business conferences, and even sporting events.

Makuhari Messe consists of three main facilities: the International Exhibition Hall, the International Conference Hall, and the Makuhari Event Hall. The International Exhibition Hall, with a total exhibition space of 75,000 square meters, includes Halls 1-11, which can be used for everything from large exhibitions to concerts. The facility’s design reflects the natural landscape of Chiba’s Boso Peninsula, adding a local cultural touch to its modern architecture. The connected halls provide seamless movement between areas via elevated walkways.

The International Conference Hall is ideal for hosting conferences, seminars, and corporate events, offering a variety of rooms, including a convention hall that can accommodate 1,600 people. The Makuhari Event Hall, with a dome-shaped design and a capacity for up to 9,000 people, is perfect for concerts, sporting events, and other large gatherings. The entire complex is surrounded by beautiful landscaping, sculptures, and fountains, and is located in the upscale Makuhari New City area, which boasts nearby hotels, restaurants, and shopping areas.

Makuhari Messe is easily accessible from central Tokyo via the JR Keiyo Line, with Kaihin Makuhari Station just a short walk away. It is also conveniently located near Narita and Haneda airports, making it a prime destination for both domestic and international events.
